Art that has grown from emotion, uncertainty, change, connection, and all those parts of ourselves that don’t always translate into words.
I work intuitively. Sometimes I understand what I’ve created straight away. Other times, the meaning doesn’t reveal itself until the piece is complete.
Because I don’t always understand what I create straight away, it leaves room for an open mind… and that’s the best part!
‘Creating the Fool’s Journey’ is inspired by The Fool card from the Rider–Waite tarot deck, first published in 1909; a figure at the edge of the unknown, full of curiosity, instinct and the courage to begin without knowing exactly where the path will lead. That’s the part I connect with most!
The Fool isn’t about having the answers, it’s about trusting yourself enough to take the next step! Staying open to what unfolds, and creating the journey as you go. Not “foolish” but willing to begin! To question, to experiment, to get things wrong, to change direction, and to trust curiosity enough to take another step. That spirit sits at the heart of what I create.
My work explores the inner worlds we all carry, the vulnerable, strange, beautiful, and sometimes contradictory parts of being human.
Once a painting leaves my hands, I don’t believe its meaning belongs only to me. You might see something entirely different. And I hope you do!
There is always room for you to bring your own journey, experiences, and questions. To feel drawn to something without needing to explain why. To pause, to wonder, to recognise something familiar, or perhaps discover something you hadn’t noticed before.
None of us really know exactly where our journey is taking us!
